Adoption as well as Blessings

  •  I recently saw on this blog a really touching video. It is only five minutes long, but it shows how a girl (in her teens) being asked if she would like to become a part of a forever family. It is a must watch!.....  A beautiful video!  Also here is another adoption video..... http://vimeo.com/32241536   Adoption is really amazing! My family will hopefully be able to experience it on November 17 (National Adoption Day!) when we should be able to adopt my 9month old baby sister (she will be a year November 8th and we got to meet her November 14th). I pray that all will go well and smoothly.
  • How many of you have ever had your church do an outreach that you gave to? You might be asked to donate a backpack, $5 to buy supplies for homeless people etc. and you may even pack things, and it might be a little tiny thing. Today my sister and I recieved two backpacks full of school supplies for free. When I got this backpack I was soooooooooooo thankful! I was especially blessed when I saw the contents! (I will leave a list at the end if you are curious about the contents.) All of those things were such a blessing even when they don't seem like it to some. After I recieved my already filled backpack I wondered if the people who did this really know how thankful I was for it all. I pray that God will bless all who gave their time and money to get me that backpack!
  •  I read this story today and it is really sad. I ask that you would pray for all of the people involved, that if they don't know Christ that some will be saved through this.
  • A Syrian pastor wrote to tell us how encouraged he was to learn that many people are praying for Syria. He said his city still has electricity and water despite the continued fighting there. "The city is still closed, and hills of rubbish are spread everywhere," he wrote. "As for bakeries, few are open, but hundreds of people are waiting their turn and fighting for bread." It takes between five and 10 hours to get bread. The pastor wrote that one of his church members gave him several loaves as a gift. "You can imagine the gifts we are giving each other these days!" he wrote. His church has been meeting regularly, spending the entire service in prayer. "One of the very tragic situations is seeing people with some of their stuff on the sidewalks ... wondering what to do or where to go because they lost their houses or ran away because of the fights," he wrote. "Please keep praying for us."

  • The List
binder, notebook, pens, 125 pieces of paper, pencils, erasers, highlighter, colloge ruled notebook, colored pencils, index cards, index card holder, folder, those things that seperate your papers, and last a backpack (the kind that are popular with older kids I guess. They are a bag on draw strings).

Gospel For Asia (GFA)

  • I just finished reading "No Longer A Slum Dog" by K.P. Yohannon, and let me tell you it was amazing! (I think this book is a five star!) While reading the stories about what happens there in India is sooo sad! I teared up in while I thought about how the Dalhits and OBC's (those are two of the lowest classes) are treated. Here in the United States those kinds of things aren't normal. But throughout all of that I was truly touched by all that God is doing through Gospel For Asia!!! (GFA) Another one of K.P. Yohannon's books is also an eye opener "Revolution in world mission" I read this book last year I believe and I am about to reread it. I hope you have a chance to read those two books! (you can order them for free at the website below). If you haven't heard of GFA here is one of their sites...  Gospel For Asia ... It is a Christian organization and 100% of the money goes to the outreach! GFA also helps by giving education to children, training missionaries, gives things like bibles, tracks, sewing machines, and they help in a lot of other ways too! Please check out their websites!

The Urge To Do It Later

  • Today I was getting ready to leave the house with my family, when I was picking up a book to bring along. As I was doing this I saw my Bible, and my devotional, Jesus Calling, by Sarah Young. I felt an urge to pick it up and start reading it, but part of me was telling me to just do it later in the day. And you won't believe what I saw once I did sit down and opened my devotional! It was titled: Focusing Your Thoughst, but the first words I saw was: "Start your morning with Me. Resist that urge to roll over for just a few minutes of sleep" God was already talking to me and I almost ignored Him! He knew how I was feeling. I also know I always want to have a few more minutes of sleep whenever I wake up. So when I saw this I felt bad that I was putting God off. On my to-do-list for later, but whenever I do that I never really seem to do it! I hope by sharing this devotion with you all you can be encouraged to not leave God on your do-later-list.

  • ....Focusing Your Thoughts
Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and are worthy of praise.  Philippians 4:8 [NLT]
Start your morning with Me. Resist that urge to roll over for just a few more minutes of sleep. Don't fill your room with music or television just yet."  (for me it would be the computer) "Take a few moments to center your thoughts on Me. And let Me fill you with My Joy and Peace.

Then as you go through your day, keep your thoughts focused on Me and My blessing. Pay attention to the things that are best-the things that are worth taking time for-like a true friend, the honor of a grandparent, the pure innocence of a baby, or the loveliness of My creation. Whatever is excellent and good, notice these things and praise Me for them. They are My blessings for you this day.

Read on your own:
     Isaiah 40:31; Psalm 27:4"

Under Construction

  • WOW! Yesterday was one of the best days I have had in a long time! I was able to go tubing and at the end I shared a small tube (its suppose to be one person I think) with my sister and it was so fun trying not to fall off! I had to lean on her and at the end of the time we were treating each other differently. The good kind. I have been praying for a very long time and God is finally starting to answer! My sister and I are not as close as we used to be, but I really want to start fixing our relationship so we can become closer. We aren't the worst sisters, but I haven't been spending much time with her, but right now I am "Under Construction." For me that is working on my responses, trying to be a light for people, spending time with Savvy (my sister), and many more things. We should always work on those things, but I really need to work on some of them right now.
  • Do you need to go "Under Construction"?
  • Love in Christ and God bless!

Music Helps Us Express Ourselves

  • Music. Music often helps us all when we are in all sorts of places. It encourages us and pulls us through certian times. Music also helps us show our love, joy and how grateful we are to God. There are many wonderful songs, but for now I have chosen these four. All of these songs are VERY encouraging, and they are some of my favorite. They are in the order of the following:  Forgiven by Sanctuc Real; Our God is Greater by Chris Tomlin; and  Our God Reigns here, As for Me and My House by John Waller. I hope you enjoy all of them! God bless!
